Love this post!! All early fase entrepreneurs should read it. One of the problems I see is that there are many good ideas but few investors in this market with the big guns. And I don`t want to pitch ideas to the local university start-up event localy. Let me know if you know where to find the right people. Subject; social media.

As with most things, it is very situational. For “most” silicon valley startups, this is true. But for independent product launches, this may not be true. It depends on the goal and whether or not you're trying to scale to a certain point.

Wow. Great post. I gave this same advice to startups all the time. I find so many founders who focus so much time and attention on their product and nearly zero on the go-to-market strategy.

These days I also often hear “SEO/SEM” as the go-to-market / user acquisition strategy, which is a dangerously easy fiction to believe.
